All of us were booked in regular oceanview cabins (1 couple booked an inside), and they were fine but the smallest cabins we've ever stayed in - and this cruise was 14 days! Luggage we put under the bed, and there was enough closet & shelf space (using the bedside table cubby holes as shelves for t-shirts and shorts) for everything. The bathrooms are definitely an older design, but then this is an older ship. I'm glad they added USB ports to the bedside lamps when the ship was last refurbished as this made charging our devices easy. From top to bottom and from bow to stern, Norwegian Sky has enough onboard activities to fill every minute of your cruise. Indulge in a refreshing swim in the pool or a relaxing dip in one of our hot tubs on the pool deck.

This was our first post-COVID cruise since then. This also was our 23rd cruise, so we are very experienced cruisers. This cruise was chosen as a birthday cruise for me and we were very excited to be on our first real vacation since 2019. NCL originally planned to sell the vessel to Star Cruises (GHK-owned company). Later a decision was announced to sell it to Pullmantur (RCL-Royal Caribbean brand in Spain).

We also enjoyed St. Thomas were we went to Coki Beach for snorkeling and Coral World (coralworldvi.com). The taxi was $10 per person each way, and a minute drive, depending on traffic. Coki has primo snorkeling, and depending on the number of ships, the beach will be more or less crowded. Coral World is an “island version” of Sea World.

We had to tender to the dock, which took maybe 30 minutes to include waiting on the ship. We were the only ship so there was plenty of seating combing the beach.

Cabin (2 stars) – We stayed in a balcony cabin on the 9th deck, mid-ship, which is the best if you are getting a balcony. It is two levels under the pool deck and away from other unwanted noise.

Embarkation (5 stars) – We used the new NCL Miami terminal. The new facility is very nice and a great first impression. Embarkation was smooth, quick and the staff were very professional. After 4 years of waiting, 3 cancellations, and passing the COVID test the day we flew into Miami, we finally were able to embark on the Norwegian Sky at the end of May 2022.

The boat has 12 decks, of which 9 are passenger-accessible and 7 with cabins. Norwegian Sky is a smaller ship which we prefer. It was the layout and utilization which wasn't so great.
